About Me
I am a scientist who is interested in how pollution moves through the aquatic environment. My research ethic is motivated by the phrase Cura personalis, which means “care for the whole person,” a reminder of the holistic needs of living beings and systems. Care for the whole person includes not just physical or mental health but also access to safe and clean environmental systems. This ideology is anchored in previous research, academic experiences, and outdoor adventures that led me to see how important water is to healthy people and communities. Cura personalis continues to inspire my pursuit of a PhD and a career in research related to protecting our water resources. As a scientist, I want my career to be a manifestation of cura personalis, a holistic integration of high quality technical research to 1) improve our understanding of chemical cycling in freshwater systems and 2) guide resource managers in the decision making that benefits all of us.
